How to play

Every day there are seven questions, and every answer is a number (or, in the History edition, a year). You don't have to know the exact answer: you give a range that you're confident contains it.

1. Set your range

Drag the two handles on the ruler to bracket where you think the answer is. Tighter ranges score more points, but if the answer falls outside your range you score nothing for that question.

2. Lock it in

Press Lock in to see the answer, your points and a fun fact. A range that catches the answer scores up to 100 points: the narrower it is, the more you get. A range that's practically spot on scores the full 100.

3. Finish all seven

Your total is out of 700. You'll see how you compare with everyone else who played today, and with signed-in players on the leaderboard.

Streaks

Play every day to build a streak. Every 7 days in a row earns a streak freeze (you can bank up to 2), which is used automatically if you miss a day.

Accounts

A free account keeps your streak and scores on every device, puts you on the leaderboard, and lets you join friends leagues.

Tips

Think about what you do know: a year's decade, roughly how big something is, or what would be ridiculous. Then squeeze your range from both sides until you're just confident enough.
